weekly scale challenge

Recommended Posts

Wow, now that is really using your time. The scale really can be a problem with some people. By the way, I have a lot of stuff that needs to be done if you run out of things to do there:D :D

Betty,

Sorry wife keeps me pretty busy around here right now. Seems I let lots slide while I was always tired and lazy due to weight. Took any chance I could to put off physical labor.

Today is scale day.. CAn't believe I have gone a whole week without getting on it. (wife can't either).

At work now and when I get home I will weight after I get up from sleeping.< /p>

Monday 10/11

After a weekend of drinking & eating in Vegas and starting my period Saturday I was not going to get on the scale this morning but I did.... and to my amazement my weight was an even 207 which was a 1 1/2 lb loss.... Go figure :D

Michelle, we must all be thinking the same. I was afraid of the scale, too, but I decided to get on. I was actually at 252 a week ago but I never posted that. But I'm holding steady - that's the price you gotta pay for drinking a bucket of sugar. I can't believe you lost! Must have been all that hoochie-kooing that went down when I wasn't around.

OK wasn't gonna get on the scale either this morning after the weekend we had. I did gain 1 lb. I am 248 lbs. I expected more but that is cool. I can lose that no problem. LOL!! That one lb was worth all the fun.

Wt... 213... I wieghed several times this week hoping that the 2 days of starving followed by another day of pooping my brains out would amount to magically making me skinny...lol. I also started my monthly... but the result was 2lbs down.

WTG Michelle and Lisa... I would imagine that fun and excitement and laughter all burn calories... all of which I'm sure you all had oodles of!

Greg... congrats for staying off of the scale... tis a tough thing to do!

Darcy,

It was tougher then most would know. I came to love that scale when the weight was falling off fast. But I just woke up and got on it and I lost two pounds since last Monday so it was worth it. I think I'll have no problems this week. Now that I'm in the 1 to 2 pounds a week loss range I won't get upset when I have 3 or 4 days of same weight.

Michelle congrads on your loss even after all the partying.

Penni I would have gladly given up several pounds to have been able to be in Vegas. You all looked like you had more fun then anyone could imagine.

Well new week. I wish everyone the best and have to say it took courage for you ladies to get on scale after your weekend. But the damage isn't unrepairable.

Well its my 30th annive. Wife is around here somewhere...see if I can catch her and burn off few calories.

Later all

Greg

:D I am 2 down this week, putting me at 185. It is so good to be eating again...and still losing! I made Greg's cinnamon bar recipe yesterday and expect that will show up soon, but I enjoyed celebrating. :)

We were on the road last week on my normal thursday weigh in date so I completely missed last weeks. I am going to hold off weighing this week until my normal thursday. I'll be curious what it does after all of those days of road food and gluttony in Vegas. Lisa and friends all still cook like pre-banders. It looked like there was enough tamales for each of us to have 2 or 3 apiece and Vera made enough enchiladas to feed a village. Carols margaritas were phenomenol as well as the crab dip. SO MUCH FUN!!! I'll let you know what the scale says thursday. Teresa

Teresa, we DID cook pre-bandlike. But at least I made the mini tortillas, right? However, my neighbors and friends almost always drop in on the weekends, and they still eat like hogs, so I ordered extra tamales. Trust me, they won't go to waste, cuz I'm taking some to work tomorrow with Vera's enchiladas. My co-workers will go nuts over them!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
