What's been the toughest part of your journey to the new you?

Right now? Head hunger and reluctant to "push" my Sleeve.

At 4 1/2 months out ..... Cooking smaller portions.... I know that sounds crazy.... But, I was so used to cooking a fair amount knowing I would eat it. Well all I can say is I have been freezing a lot of mini meals......

Eating enough. 7 wks out I am still probably only getting less than 300 calories per day. It's really hard.

I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. Have been on liquids since the surgery. Plus 4 weeks of pre-op diet. My surgery got delayed two weeks so that why the extra pre op.

For me, I have not had a really hard time with the liquids for whatever reason. I am a little nervous but looking forward to start soft foods on Thursday. The toughest thing for me by far and away is Constipation. Never has it been this bad. I am a rockstar on getting in at least 80 oz of liquid and 70-90 grams of Protein. It's not just liquid in-liquid out. The Protein is a big poo maker. I am miserable when I try to go. There is zero Fiber going in. Not. Good. At. All. Tried stool softeners, Milk of Magnesia and still have to resort to suppositories. Today I have started benefiber and see how that helps. I never thought for a moment that would be my biggest issue.

Other than that, I have been so blessed to have thus far had an very easy time since surgery. (knock on wood!)

Hope the same doesn't happen to you. (or the opposite that some folks have)

I was having the same problem..... A nurse told me to add warm prune juice and that did the trick! It was hard to drink it at first . However, the results made it worth it! Hope this helps....I so feel your pain....

How are you only getting 300 calories. I was sleeved about a week before you and i am getting 900 - 1200. Can you list out your consumption for a day? I'm just curious how you are consuming so few calories. Idk if I could make it on three hundred calories.

Miralax is good and doesn't cause stomach cramping. Without going into to much detail having a cup of coffee works for me (since the surgery).

@ 6 months....feeling like I will never "make it."

Even though results keep showing me otherwise.

Leaning to step off my scale and beating it with a sledge hammer. I'm a scale junkie. I used to weigh 3-4 times a day. I'd know what I was when I woke up, and at least when I went to sleep so I'd know approximately what I'd be in the morning good or bad. Now, I'm trying to change that mentality. Clothes are falling off of me, people are always commenting on my weight loss, that's my goal. Keep doing what I'm supposed to be doing, and letting nature take care of the weight loss. I'd eventually like to get to the point where I don't even weigh until a Dr. appointment. That'd make me happy, but for now I'll stick to once a week, then throw the batteries away or hide them and replace them on my weekly weigh in.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
