Hi everyone! I don't really know what to think at the moment.. My surgery was scheduled for May 23rd. I could have had it sooner but were moving mid April with a baby and i just want to be as ready as I can for this. When she said approved I was excited for 2 mins minutes and then fear and panic set in which was weird because I wanted this so bad and now I'm here and I feeling like canceling. Im doing this for me but also for my son because I think if I do this my fiancé will as well and he has 200lbs to lose. I want to be able to do whatever we want as a family an not have weight be a factor. I don't want our child to have the fat parents at school but most importantly I want my child to have both his parents healthy and for a very very long time. I'm nervous because we are foodies and our life and family revolve around food but enough is enough and I'm taking the first step. I've dieted and gained it back so many times I'm tired of all of it. I'm having surgery with dr.laguna in Minneapolis, mn. Just wanted to say hi everyone!! Sorry if I rambled I'm so scared and excited!!

I think that is very normal. Kind of like buyers remorse. I asked myself what I had done for about 2 weeks after my revision. Had a few little breakdowns along the way. Then I realized I had done the best thing I could have for ME. From posts I have read on this site that I should cancel this feeling is completely normal. Go for it!!! Best of luck to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
