joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 26, 2013 I think it's kinda like buying a car. You suddenly start noticing how many other people are driving the same model you have. On the other hand, I work with 50 women, and most conversations I overhear are centered around food, Desserts, and what was for dinner last night. And the occasional tidbit about sex! That's when my ninja skills kick in and I go into stealth mode! It never fails to amaze me how a 300 lb guy can blend into the background and disappear in front of their eyes. 3 NerdyMHC, annabelle and No game reacted to this

Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted March 26, 2013 It's like with parents.. All we seem to do is talk about kids. It's what we have in common.. Our comfort zone 2 annabelle and No game reacted to this

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted March 26, 2013 I haven't noticed... but then again, I am a foodie to the core.. I still enjoy conversations about food. I still watch food porn. I've been "recuperating" at my sister's house and I've cooked every meal for them...(Asian inspired burritos anyone?) When I'm not cooking, talking about food, or watching food porn, I'm researching healthy recipes to get me through my stages. Now that I will only be having small portions, it's even more important to me to have every flavor right and savor every bite rather than put on the ole feed bag. Talking about food, researching recipes, cooking... all of these things actually make it EASIER for me.. I'm NEVER going to stop being a foodie.. I'm just going to be a healthier one now! 1 sharonintx reacted to this
new_me2013 41 Posted March 26, 2013 I haven't noticed everyone talking about food but it seems everybody is sure interested in what I'm eating (or rather the small amount) & everyone has a comment....maybe if they would have paid attention when I was eating large amounts of all the wrong foods I wouldn't have done that so often lol
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted March 26, 2013 I do think you notice it more. Or at least I think I did.
Mastiff_mama 171 Posted March 26, 2013 ... or do people around us talk about food more? Or' date=' am I just tuned in to it more? Amanda Rae[/quote'] Seems every other post on Facebook is some delish dessert! Like choc chip cookie dough follow by a Peanut Butter cup topped with brownie batter and baked! Actually sounds kinda gross lol
PdxMan 4,292 Posted March 26, 2013 ... or do people around us talk about food more? Or, am I just tuned in to it more? Amanda Rae I think we just notice it more. We have undergone such a drastic change. I know when I am at a restaurant, I am constantly looking at everybody's plate. What they're eating, the portions and how quickly they shovel it down. I don't do it as much as I did early out, but I do still notice. Pre-op, I would have never given anyone's plate a second look.
