Every day, first thing. I also graph it, lol. I really "count" the Monday morning weight, that's sort of my weekly gauge to watch the trend. It keeps me focused, and I love graph because the trend line is in my favor :) I think if I were in maintenance, it would give me the information needed to increase exercise, decrease calories, etc. Also, I can't stand the suspense.

Once or twice a week depending on how things are going. Sometimes I like the progress report mid-week, especially if I feel like I need a wake-up call.

I weigh daily and enter changes in MFP. I count Wednesdays as my official weight for the week since that was my surgery date.

I weigh every morning. I only record losses. If I go up a few pounds I psych myself out to work to get them off again.

In the beginning, every morning, crack of dawn, no clothes and after a session with the toilet. Did this until month 5 and entered everything about weight change and why ( if only a hypothesis). This helped me to see the trend and figure out what works.

Then I started to weigh every Monday, same time. For last 2 months, I weigh once a month or so, just to see what the scale thinks of me after I dumped her for the mirror. I like how the mirror looks back at me now. All sexy.

Today, I have a pretty "cool" relationship with my scale now; it is pretty stale and she is more of a burden then the hot flame she used to be. She gets terribly lonely and clingy, desperately wanting love and attention. When the crying gets too loud I will get on it for a little affair, but no more. It is more for her then I. And I feel so dirty afterwards, especially after considering all the nights I spend with the mirror before sleeping.

I think, once I weigh in at my PCP's office, I will limit myself to weekly.

I weigh daily and record losses in MFP, if my weight fluctuates back up, I don't record the gain and then will record the next loss when I see that I am below my last recorded weight.

I count my wednesday weight in order to track my weekly progress.

I had a three week stall during my preop process.. I gave my scale a bit of a time out during that time because I was getting frustrated, but ordinarily I'm not bothered by fluctuations or up to a week without any loss so I like to weigh daily.

I weigh daily...I know, I know. It hasn't moved in a week so I'm ready to throw it outside...let it spend it's nights alone in the cold and dark.

I weigh once a week now but I used to weigh everyday and that would drive me insane. Nothing irritated me more than to see a new low and not see that number again for another week or 2 because the scale went back up. For my sanity I have to weigh once a week.

I weigh daily' date=' once when I get up, again before and after a pee, again before and after a poop, when I get home in the evening after work.

NO! I'm not obsessing. I just have a boring life.[/quote']

Me too! I weigh way too often and sometimes it goes up a few pounds during the day! Depressing! I need to stop this obsession!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
