Fiddleman 4,376 Posted March 26, 2013 You guys have to admit these are awesome to watch, even when we were not so strong or not so healthy. Who would not give to haul a semi 100 feet or to carry 250lb/500lb stones and place them on pedestals. Awesome! These shows bring out the he-man in us ( or she-ra for the women, if they like watching this kind of thing). Don't forget to watch American Ninja Warrior (or the Japanese original). Not nearly as raw, but is still uber motivating to see what you can do when you are at the top of your health and fitness. 2 Amie and aroundhky reacted to this
mark! 449 Posted March 27, 2013 It's always awesome watching those shows. I've competed in a few strong man events and highland games, it's a blast. Even at the local level, it's relatively easy to get in to and participate plus it gives us a goal to work toward instead of a generic "lose weight" "get stronger" mentality. Atlas Stones were always my favorite event along with the log press, I was just never very good at being quick and strong so I focused on powerlifing. Will be competing at the National level in 2014 USPA and then at the Texas Police games as long as my recovery keeps going well. I am looking forward to getting the body weight down and start competing in lighter weight classes, I'll likely pick up another local strongman event and give it a go when that happens. 1 Fiddleman reacted to this
