Has any one had issues with acute urination pain or a feeling of ongoing Constipation in the front? How about having to get up 5-7 x at night to use the bathroom. I do make an effort to dry out before going to bed, but 5-7 x?? To me these sound like worse case prostate cancer and best case UTI when looking up symptoms online, but I am only 36. I have never experienced either of these before.

The symptoms have gotten worse in the last few months. The pain during urination does not happen every time, but when it does, it can be felt in the tract and radiating up towards the bladder. Sorry if TMI. Trying to be as informative as possible to trigger a recognition from someone.

For sure, I will set up an appointment with my PCP. Wanted to know if this could be something else or has anyone else experience with it. I have taken chia seeds daily for 4 months to help with the daily BM now plus my krill oil supplement. I have read somewhere there is a link between long term use of omegas (chia seeds are high) to p-cancer, but don't want to get excited about anything until a doctor diagnoses something.

I tend to be symptomatic about a few thing since surgery which did not turn into anything (at least not yet) so trying to take this one slow. Let me know what you think. Other then this issue, I am in very good health.

Instead of the PCP, if your insurance allows, make an appointment with the urologist.

I agree. Pre surgery, I never had to get up more than once during the night, usually around 3:00am. But I had untreated apnea, so I suspect that had a lot to do with it. I have had some issue at times with having a to go, but it not working so well. But again, I relate that to the weight. Now, I'm like the proverbial Russian Racehorse.. :D Go get yerself checked out. Could be an infection or an enlargement, something relatively simple.

I'm 3 weeks out, and for me its the same as I was pre-op I get up maybe once a night. Sometimes if I get my Water in early enough I wont get up at all. I use a CPAP, and it was explained to me if you don't get to REM sleep your kidneys continue to work and you have to get up and go more often. I have never had pain going.

Set up a PCP appointment for today and I will ask about a referral to a urologist (first time for everything).

Might also ask to see an endocrinologist to measure my BMR so I can know really how many calories I should be eating for my fitness level. I bet my body is shocked and stressed out and won't give anything up as per my daily 1000 - 1200 calories consumption and 1000 calorie burn (exercise daily in 45 min - 1 hour). Not that extreme ( do not really have time or desire to do much more) but might be pushing my cortisol levels. scale hasn't moved since beginning of Feb (178-182 range @ 5'11") although you would think it would. I am doing some pretty heavy duty training.

It's about the same for me as pre-op. Rest is sooo important, and getting up 5-7 times a night makes a good nights rest impossible. Wish you the best and hope that gets resolved for you.

When we push our bodies as hard as we are, especially you Fiddle, there are always kinks to be ironed out.

I'm sure it's something that's easily fixed.

Keep us updated,

Deano

Doctor said definitive UTI (prostatitis), but said he needed lab result to form an additional diagnosis. He said maybe bigger prostate issue after doing the spread eagle (uggg!). He also wants to rule out any kidney related issue by looking at results from a urology lab. Fingers crossed.

Mate at your age I'd bet money it's just a UTI.

I had my first prostate check when I went to a urologist a couple of weeks ago to find out about a vasectomy.

I wasn't expecting it, suffice to say I don't even like people wagging their finger in my face!!

I was kind of under the impression I had to at least turn 40 before dealing with urology type issues. Now In know better! At least I am not dealing with high blood pressure, pre-diabetes and sleep apnea along with morbid obesity any longer. I have not felt healthier, ever. Not even high school is a good memory.

I got the lab results back today and they said not UTI, but some prostate issue.

Have to take cipro for 6 weeks. Oy! This medication is such a pain to take because it conflicts with minerals 6 hours before and 2 hours after. Said if symptoms worsen then it is more then prostatitis. I wish they would just tell me. Hope it clears up.

when it comes to one eye, there's no room for guessing...... I had a pain a while back along with difficulty urinating and went to the PCP......yeah, he did the whole gauntlet......labs, ultrasound, blah blah.....So he says go home, drink lots of fluids.....it'll pass. It didn't......I went to the ER that night and had Cat Scan. Very large Kidney stone. The Urologist had to stent it and deal with severe UTI first and then laser it later. He told me if I had waited another day I could have had permanent Kidney damage. A later Scan revealed yet another stone in the kidney which he blasted (lithotripsy). Saving the laser up the ****. later. I now only trust a Urologist and make regular appointments.. Don't risk it .......get it checked by a specialists.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
