That's 6.7 pounds a week since surgery, almost a pound a day. Not too fast at this stage I don't think. Keep trying on the food, it will get easier. Make sure you eat extra slow.

I have found that there really is no "normal" when it comes to how peoples bodies react after surgery. I am almost 4 months out & ONLY down 74 lbs. I am what people call a "slow loser". How silly is that?

As far as food, don't push yourself. It takes quite a bit of time for your stomach to completely heal. Talk with your nutritionist if you are concerned that you aren't getting in enough nutrition. There is always the go to shake of your choice. The are easy on the system when you are having a rough time. My go to shake is a cup of almond milk with Designer whey Double chocolate Protein Powder, 2 tbsp. of PB2 & half a frozen banana all blended together. It is easy on my sleeve & allows me to get in a full 20 grams of Protein with just one meal.

Being sleeved is like learning how to eat all over again. You can absolutely do this, and we are all here whenever you need support! Best wishes to you. This does get easier so, hang in there, :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
