Walking...lat pull downs and tricep extensions....I am worried about the same exact thing. I heard on here Palmer firming butter lotion is good to use, also. Good luck!

Drink lots of Water. Keep moisturized. Exercise. That's about all.

Yeah I heard the same thing about the lotion deff gonna give it a try! Should I start in weights first and build muscle before doing crazy amounts of cardio ya think?

I would just work in weights and resistance training in with doing cardio rather than seeing it as doing just one OR the other. It's the best way to boost metabolism and they compliment each other. One makes you stronger better at doing the other.

Unfortunately, you may have *some* loose skin no matter what you do - lotions, Water, exercise. Do the best you can, and it should prevent some of the worst of it. I was close to your starting weight but I'm shorter and had more weight to lose to goal. I have loose skin for sure, but it's manageable. My thighs/butt are worse than belly, and my arms are the least since I do a fair amount of exercise to tone them up. I've heard time helps the most, that sometimes after 2-3 years the skin bounces back a little so long as you drink lots of Water and keep up the work.

My surgeon said Water and exercise. there will still be extra skin but that will minimize it.

I'll toss in another perspective. Our culture has dictated specific ideals of beauty, which can be difficult to escape. What I am finding (and have learned before but didn't acknowledge) is that confidence is sexy..period. Men are much less complicated than we perceive.

Own yourself, project confidence, feel good about yourself, and there is no stopping you.

I agree about hydration....get your Water in and use lotion! But also I believe exercise is the biggest helper when it comes to avoiding loose skin. I'm sure you'll look fabulous! And even if you end up with some flabby areas, there is always the option for a little nip/tuck. :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
