10 days after surgery or 10 days after you take the CAPS LOCK OFF.

Whichever comes first.

3/11 I had a hernia procedure at the same time. My postop was last Thursday he kept me on full-liquids. My doc said I needed extra heal time. But, if I ate too much or drank too fast I would feel those pains. And I have. I will start my pureed foods next week. Be sure to keep your doc informed on your condition and discomfort! Hope you start feeling better!

I was sleeved/hiatal hernia repaired on 3/11 as well, and know EXACTLY what you are taking about with the pain! As it was explained to me, the swelling in that area lies right on a nerve that goes up through your diaphram and into your left shoulder. OMG, it was AWFUL!!!

The pain WILL subside as the swelling goes down; take it easy and don't overdo it. My pain lasted almost 2 weeks. Everyone is different; but don't panic. It'll go away as you heal! Good luck!!

I am sure it will. I had an esophageal/ Sliding hernia. Just take your time with drinking and eating. As soon as I get that ache-I stop drinking or eating. Start back when I feel better. My doc said for me to call his office if pain does not stop or for basically anything. You should be getting better not worst-call your doc if you don't get better!

Miss Kitty, do you think CAPS LOCK should be used on forum posts, even when we are really frustrated?

Another question for you Miss Kitty. Do you think threads should be hijacked taking the attention away from the OP and focused on my sillyness?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
