Who has gotten a loan or financing for Mexico?

Recommended Posts

Well I was recently informed, (7 days before my surgery) that I was not eligible for my insurance anymore, so I am still determined as ever to have this surgery, probably in May or June now though, because I am a teacher and will need to wait until summer break, instead of spring break. So I am thinking my only option now is going to Mexico. I would love any information on not only Mexico but from anyone who has gotten some type of loan or financing for surgery. What are the different options I have? I will not be able to save up more than $1000 before summer. Thanks for any advice! :)

My daughters went through medchoice for their lapbands. Vey easy, but I thought it was a bit higher than going through just a credit card. Easier to get by far though

I'm sorry, I didn't see that you were denied. If I was going to go out of the country, I would get some references from others, like you have here and go for a pre-surgery visit to scope out the town, hospital and hotel. On the flip side, who is going to monitor you after surgery?

I have United Health care - serviced by health plan of Nevada... they have said they will pay 5k of the surgery ( leaving me with 10k left to pay on my own). I am trying to get the surgery early this summer-- any ideas who might finance this sort of thing ... my credit is about 625 :( helppppp

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
