no you won't have to sip forever. when I work out I can drink 32 oz of Water or more in a 2 hour time frame. I am 8 weeks post op and I used to have to sip, sip, sip. Now I don't have to sip...now granted I can't CHUG...and I know what you mean by chugging water. I miss doing that. It is almost like I don't have the same feeling of satisfaction as when I drink small amounts. but my sips are much larger now.

good to know. I know it probably sounds silly but I love chugging Water so I was kind of disappointed that this would be a thing to change. I was also wondering if I could stay hydrated enough during runs (I run/jog/walk 5 ks now but would like to run 13.1)

This is awesome!

Oh yes!! Ok well it's so hard to not just down it!! Hahaha I ran marathons as a fat girl or thick girl... I was just sleeved on Mar 13 and I fight the urge to not chug it haha I'm not working out yet but that will start back soon... Already down 23 lbs in 2 weeks... But no energy yet so I'm waiting patiently or maybe impatiently... Summer is coming and I intend on enjoying every minute of it!!! Already almost in 1-derland...

I am happy to say...I no longer have to sip, sip, sip. I hated that nonsense. Lol

I'm 10 weeks out, and since about week 6 or 7 is when I noticed I can take, what i consider to be a legitimate drink of Water.

Nothing else about this surgery has bothered me.

I was so stressed out about not being able to drink Water fast. But I'm just seconding everyone else - I can now drink much quicker, no more sipping everything!

This is the best news I have ever heard!!!! I can't wait for a bit more than a sip. A gulp at least.

I'm a Water chugger too and I'm happy to hear the sip sip sipping should be temporary.

You should be able to drink large amounts for sure after 5 months. I think even after 2 months, you can change from sip to gulp if you want to. It really depends on when your stomach is fully healed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
