Ive not been in this very long and am surely not an expert ha ha But for me this is normal. I cant puke either. On the other hand a friend of mine said if you try you could have slippage. I'm not sure how true that is. Im curious to see what your responses are.

If you haven't had a fill chances are you were not stuck. It depends. If you were stuck there is no gastric juices in the pouch. therefore, when you PB not much food, if any, comes up. It's different. If the food went through what you may be feeling is irritation in the esphogus and not really stuck. This is probably not making sense, but things are different. That feeling of being stuck can be just irritation and the food has already gone through.

I wouldn't try to throw up. That's not good and you probably haven't been banded very long. Did you eat something you were not supposed to, or ate to fast, or too big of bites?

Guys, I am new to this site, so hello. I am here to tell you, do not puke! I am on my second band because my first one slipped. There is no way to know for sure what caused the slip, but it was probably my puking! That was a $15,000 lesson!

Never good to induce vomitting.

If you are nauseated, call your doctor and ask for a liquid anti-nausea/anti-emitic. A tsp of anti-emitic isn't going to cause damage, vomitting can.

:focus: :violin:  Listen, my friends...remember, remember, remember, you must eat tiny bites, do not eat fast, chew a lot before swallowing, do not eat more that a cup of food at each meal. Go to fitday.com and start recording your food intake to help you realize that you really ARE getting the amount of Protein required. You will be surprized, and you will learn that we really are what we eat, and all of us have eaten TOO MUCH. Hence, the band. Accept the challenge, turn away from your old habits. Change your relationship with the friendly food so you can get out there and have fun!

If these suggestions aren't followed, you WILL be nauseated, you WILL vomit, you WILL have stomach pain, and eventually you WILL NOT lose weight. I'm sorry but it's true. It's taken me 3 1/2 years to figure this out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
