Video of sleeve proceedure

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I watched this video over 20 times before my sleeve, here's the link if anyone wants to see how ones done. It's probably the best one on YouTube, as I've seen several.

That's a great video! For us Band to Sleeve Revisions, here is one that is also narrated and describes the procedure as it goes along! :)

interesting...looked different than I imagined...the stomach didn't look as well defined as I thought...I thought the stomach would look more distinct, like the liver did

My procedure was conducted with the Da Vinci robotic assist. You can see it here:

If I watch the video I will not be having the surgery LOL

When I watched it, it actually eased my mind.

Well, when I watched the LAPBAND procedure I fainted, so happy I didn't get that stupid band. ,

It's actually not MY procedure. I don't know who is in that video. I just wanted to share another example of how the VSG is performed. :)

I wish it would ease my mind. I would probably faint if I watched...my husband watched and the faces he made were priceless!

Thanks so much for the video link. I've watched a few others, but agree this is the best one I've seen. It is kind of a relief to actually see it. It doesn't seem so scary now. Not scheduled till July, but am so excited.

Wow, I that's cool to see your own procedure done!

Most all of us that had it done in MX brought a DVD home of our own procedure being done.. As well as a image of the stomach they removed to show us the size... Soooo cool!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
