Hi, I'm 1 mo post op as if tomorrow!

I have a weird pain on my r leg! It's a lil below the back of the knee part of the leg! It's not swollen but almost feels like a pulled muscle-- I have a small knot below the surface - as of tonight-- I've had this pain for 3ish days!

Last time (unrelated) about a year ago I'd had a scan/sonogram to look for a clot and they said it was inconclusive cuz oft size they couldn't tell--- was 317! So now I'm 283 and I'm scared to go in to the hospital and have them say they can't tell!!

I don't know what to go and I'm really making myself scared--

What other tests can they do? I never have all the symptoms to anything -- gallbladder, and appendix both gone and all tests come neg back then so I'm just worried something's wrong and they won't be able to tell I don't know what to do???

You should go get checked out, at least for peace of mind. Blood clots are no joke

This definitely sounds like a clot to me, and that's NOT something you wanna mess around with. I have a dear friend who almost lost their leg due to a clot. Please check with your Dr ASAP. Keep us posted. Better to be safe than sorry IMO

The more stressed out and panicked that you get, the more you are going to worry about symptoms. go to the ER, and they will do everything they can to make sure you don't have a clot. If it's nothing to worry about they will send you home.

I had a venous dopler done on last week to check for clots. I am experiencing pain in the rt. leg as well. It even went numb so much so when I went to stand, I couldn't walk.

However, the tech said no clots and if there was a sign of one, she would not have let me leave. You may ask for that test just to be safe.

You should go. I thought I had one in my arm cause it was sore but it was sore pain I never ever felt before and my family has a huge history of blood clots. I didn't go in because it wasn't swollen and oddly enough it went away the next day but it was very risky. If you go on too long you can die from it. They can and will travel

Yes please go have it checked out, the test is called a Venous Duplex Doppler and it's to check your extremities for blood clots and It's painless. Ms. Ashlie Marie is right, clots do travel and once it gets to your heart it can kill you. I was having pain in my left leg upper thigh, and I had the Doppler and thank god everything checked out good. Make sure you are walking every hour on the hour to get that blood flowing through your body, that is very important as you are going through your healing process and it also prevents blood clots from forming. Good luck! And please go make sure it's not a clot, but if it is your physician will put you on a blood thinner for anti-coagulation therapy You are embarking on a new life and you want to be around to enjoy it:)

I've read in the past that 30-40% of people don't ever have symptoms of a clot until it's progressed further along. If you have signs of a clot, I would definitely be making a bee line to the ER to get that sucker checked out ASAP.

In my medical experience, the most common forms of tests are MRIs and Ultrasounds. A Venography is an option, but sucks from what I hear. They'll inject a dye in to your vein and watch it move through and detect flow patterns.

Have it checked! I had one last year in my leg post-op, I just had a pain that felt like the next day after having a charley horse in my calf, and it was positive, and I'm in the medical field! Better safe than sorry!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
