DH and I disagree on weight

Recommended Posts

Just my 2 cents worth, but the way I look at it, if you eat healthy and get in everything you should. Exercise the amount you should not over-do, but do what is healthy. Don't either one of you obsess over the amount of pounds you weigh. You are going to end up where you should be.

If you continue to do things the HEALTHY way, you will weigh what you are meant to weigh. If you lose more, then you are supposed to lose more, if you stay the same then that's where your body needs to be. It's all about being healthy, not underweight for your body type, not overweight for your body type.

I've found with my hubby if we disagree on something and we can't reach a compromise, we agree to disagree and let it go. It always works out the way it is supposed to.

Sounds to me like you have a good solid marriage and like us, we love each other and find each other sexy (which is 90% attitude) no matter what our size. Granted the physical aspect is much better when we're both thinner. I bet that good man you've got will love you no matter what. He loved you large, he will love you thin.

We all have to work this band forever, just relax and enjoy the ride, you'll get to where you should be.

Ok so maybe I'm going to get off the subject a little but I HATE when an obese person loses weight and then everyone around starts whispering I think she's too thin, she doesn't look healthy too me, oh she looks awful! It drives me insane!!!! My very good friend had gastric bypass and went from 278 to 145-150 (she weighs herself everyday and keeps herself in that 5lbs range) - Other "friends" are all saying things about her losing too much weight. I tell her everytime I see her she looks beautiful! And when someone tells me they think she's lost too much and doesn't look healthy I say ask her to show you her before picture - she looks alot healthier now then she did then. She is one who has a long thin face and with the fat she still had a pretty face. Now without the fat you can see her cheekbones and jawline - I don't think she looks unhealthy I think she looks beautiful.

Ok so that was just a rant - sorry.

As for hubby - well I have to tell you my DH will be saying the same thing. About 5 years ago I lost weight and got down to 180 (I'm 5'2" and weighed 103 on our wedding day 27 years ago) and he told me he liked me losing but don't lose too much (while he's holding the cheeks of my butt in his hands) Contrary to belief, not all men go for the slender look, some enjoy the cush and curves -

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
