Is or did anyone become grumpy during their pre opt diet? I am two weeks in a four week diet and starving. I was on a diet before starting this diet. But with it I got 2 meals and stayed satisfied. And ate between 800 and 1000 calories a day. Now I only get around 500 calories and I feel like I'm not losing as much with this diet as the last. I'm also a little resentful of those who can eat normal. Is this normal? I know I need to get use to it. I'm just a baby.

I am also on the pre op diet of one meal and two shakes a day and let me tell you it's not that easy for me either. I'm very thankful I didn't have to do 2 weeks of liquids like some have to. Sometimes, especially when I'm stressed all I wanna do is eat a huge meal of something bad for me but I just keep telling myself it's going to be so worth it. Hang in there! We can do this!

I'm on Day 4 of pre-op and have a constant low grade headache as well as hungry all the time. Yeah, I'm pretty short with everyone.

I am on my last day of the two week liquid with surgery tomorrow. I was hungry but drank lots of liquid. I didn't cheat once. A little impatient but after a couple days I was able to handle it. If I can do this, so can you. Plus people notice the weight loss. Stay positive and active. If you rest too much you think about food. Good luck

I have 7 days of liquids. I read that Chinese medicine teaches that anger, hostility, and resentment are stored in the liver, so those feelings mean that we are doing things right! It may all be BS, but it helped me get through the day, so maybe it will help you too :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
