So happy I found this thread. I had my surgery on 8/29 and I haven't had a bowel movement yet. However every time I do go to the bathroom when I wipe my behind something is always there even though I didn't have a vowel movement . That worries me. Anyone else have that experience?

Sorry to be so gross

I had a period three days after surgery and it lasted for a while. My doc said it started from the trauma to my body from surgery. I am on the shot and am not supposed to have a period at all. I also have PCOS.... Would love to chat with fellow PCOS folks!!

Just wanted to update... I originally posted this back in March right after surgery. I have (had?) Pcos and endometriosis. I've had ZERO problems with my period after this post. I've lost 100+ lbs, and had my period last week. Wasn't painful AT ALL. The only issue I had was not being hungry at all (like food was disgusting to me).. But as far as pain, ZERO.

I am a year out from surgery, when I first had surgery I had PCOS and had never had a regular cycle. Within a month of surgery i got my first cycle on my own and it was the worst I have ever had. I thought something has to be wrong, bleeding this bad, I felt like I couldn't even stand up I was so weak... It lasted over a week. The next month my cycle was completely normal. Now a year out every 28 days I have a cycle, it only lasts about 3-4 days and usually the 2nd day is fairly heavy, but not like the first real period i had after surgery. So hopefully it gets better for you...

As far as the problem with your # 2, if you are only having liquid, its going to come out liquid.. liquid in liquid out... Enjoy it while you can because the further you get in recovery pooping seems like an exciting thing because it doesn't happen often and can be more difficult :-/

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
