Hello, Im so upset I dont know what to do. In Nov 10 I had the VSG and by Oct 11. I had already could tell i could eat more than before. I work at the biggest hospital chain in America. So when I had my surgery I had to go to my hospital do everything at my hospital. So i decided to wait till Jan 2012 to start prusing the

RNY the insurance always changes at the beginning of the year. So in March I called a sister hospital in another city and

asked who was the best surgeon there and they told me. I went to see this other surgeon which they called to verify my ins

not once but twice. Told them everything I had to do. Which basically the same things. So I did and when I get finish with

everything and they submitted me, My insurance tells them Our company only allows 1 bariatric prodedure per life time.

In April 2012 I had an EGD that tells me my stomach is the shape of a ''DUMB BELL'' per the Dr no wonder shes not losing

weight.

Now my blood pressure is high and cholestrol is high, I still have sleep apena, My back still hurts. And my stomach is messed up. Im so depressed. That my own company that I have worked for 15 years. Has denied me. They are SELF FUNDED.

So I had went to a support meeting even though I had gained back my weight and down and out. Meet a person that told me about a lawyer that only fights bariatric denials. So I call the lawyer LINDSTROM HEALTHCARE ADVOCACY in Ca. They are now helpling to over turn my denial.

My company is of course going round and round. Telling them to go back to the insurance. This has been going on since last year. It just hurts the company I work for does millions of Baritric surgery for the public but doesnt even care about me a

employee that has been there.

It sounds like maybe the first surgery didn't go as it should have? So the next surgery should be a corrective revision? Not just another bariatric procedure.

I'm not judging but what does your diet consist of? You mention that your cholesterol is high. With our without an oddly shaped stomach it wouldn't be high unless you weren't eating well. At least that's how I understand it. Maybe along with working on getting the insurance overturned work on getting back to basics. Go back to what you did in the beginning when you were losing weight. Also, make sure you are in the gym every day for 30 min. Again I'm not judging just trying to give another option while you wait.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
