Am I the only one who has a bad food day ? We have had two deaths in our family in the last three weeks . Today as I drove home from the funeral I was starving ... I didn't eat a meal ,but snacked ... and snacked ... ugh ... I hate when I fall into old habits ....

Well. It's just one day. And you have a sleeve to help you get full. Do what I do. Look at clock and say. Ok. I won't eat that now. I'll eat it in one hour. Knowing you can have it soon keeps me from eating it. I space my food out that way.

thats what I have to tell myself. I am human, not super human and hopelessly flawed just like god made me. This is a learning process for all of us. I try to take it day by day. I am really trying to plan meals a wk at a time especially when I work 12 hr shifts but even then, like you said old habits are hard to break-snacking after work was a huge issue with me and first week back to work on friday, I was tired, stressed and feeling overworked so what did I do-went to what I know food and made myself sick. trying to make a plan to use my wise mind and find a health outlet-anyone have suggestions?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
