baby bullet or something like it?

Recommended Posts

You can get the nutribullet (like magic bullet but more powerful) from Bed bath and beyond for 99 bucks... but if you register your email, they'll give you a 20% off coupon so it will only be 80.00

I wouldn't buy one just to get through purees since it's such a short phase and you CAN do it all in your blender.. But I use mine every day to make smoothies, healthy salad dressings, chop garlic etc. It's a great machine to have if you think you'll use it... but not worth the money if you're only going to use it for you puree phase.

Hey, i was looking into the baby bullet too but then realized that what I really wanted was the $20- extras pack that had the silicone ice cube tray & the dial & date cute containers. You can buy it at Walmart instock or online.

I also saw 1/2C ziplock/ generic equivalent containers 6 for 2-3$

In the plastic ware / ziplock section of my local walmart they have 2ounce little cups 60 count with lids for $4. But, they're not microwavable. They melt.

The nicer find a lid ones were 6-7$ for same size.

I think I'll blend & freeze some wendy's chili bc I know I'll like that & make some of that ricotta bake I saw on here to freeze ahead. The little cups will also help with the Jello portioning.

I also considered buying a sleeve of restaurant sauce cups & lids. Like the chipotle ones are exactly 4 ounces & I've 1&2 ounce ones too. I'm not sure what I'd do with sooo many cups though.

We had about a dozen or so 2 ounce babyfoods expire at the store.. I emptied them and washed them out and have been using the jars.. PERFECT for my little 1/4 cup of puree... I eat about a half cup of food, but I like having the 1/4 up size jars since I like to do a variety.

Man. I'd almost sell mine to y'all. For me, I should have just stuck w my regular blender. I'm pretty sure ill never use the bullet again unfortunately.

I do NOT like shakes. I thought I'd love them since I've never been a picky Water in my life but the sleeve has changed that. The purée stage went so fast and I only puréed food twice, the rest of the time I just chewed really well.

I have a bullet and a blender and I preferred to use my blender. The main reason is I too bought the 1/2 cup glad containers. I made all my meals for the entire week at once because that's my way of keeping the good stuff regularity a ail able. Otherwise if I just made one meal at a time I tended to make less healthier choices. That's just me though but it does work really well :) good luck!

I have the Smarter Image version of the Magic Bullet, and I actually do use it quite a bit for my morning shakes. Right now, pre-diet, I often whiz in a few frozen cherries or blueberries, sometimes half a banana and PB2. If I use frozen fruit, it becomes very much like a milkshake.

That said, I have a blender, an immersion blender with a little mini processor attachment, and so on. I don't know that I would have run out to buy one of these just for the pureed stage. I got mine for $20 a while ago when I was still working so I could do Protein shakes at work if I couldn't get out for lunch (happened quite often for a while!).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
