Im 10 days post op and I've been sneaking in soft foods..broccoli and fish oh and a pickle (no skin) I haven't eating a lot but I just had to confess. Im actually 19lbs down! But I haven't lost anything in the last 2days just wondering if I may have caused a stall ..remember I was losing 2 1/2 to 3 lbs a day!

Ok so I'm going to be really mean because clearly you are clueless... You just had 85% of your stomach removed!!! for gods sake think next time you shove some solid food in your mouth.. Your staple line isn't healed up and you should follow your doctors orders to progress your diet gradually. Causing a stall should be the least of your worries.. You should be worried about causing a leak..

Yes! Omg a leak. Girl, we love you. We don't want you to die!!! Please be stronger than this. If I can do it, I KNOW you can.

You need to take the surgery seriously, you know you've done wrong. Get yourself together and follow your post-op instructions. That's the only advice I have for you. Oh and like soocalchic said a STALL is the last thing you should be worried about.

Fell off the horse. Get back on. It's just a few more days till you are allowed soft foods...you can wait... As far as tongue lashings, we are all here for support. We are all human and make mistakes. She knows she shouldn't do it, and admitting what she did was wrong is hard to do.

As far as stalls..they will come and go, you don't need to worry about them...they will pass. Be careful, and good luck! :)

Skinless pickle? Why would anyone pickle peeled cucumbers? It would become mush! After the pickling process (with peeling)... it's all the same texture anyway..

Totally weird!

Anyway... Get back on your docs suggested foods and live up to your name ;)

Girl there is a whole bunch of people here doing that! Seriously I see it everyday here! And they are drinking the pickle juice too! GROSS!!

Oh and to the op please be kind to your stomach, it may not hurt... but that is because at ten days your stomach nerves are still somewhat numb still. Please go back to the recommended plan.

Just saying...that a fellow sleever took a big bite of hubby's cheese burger on day 2 post-op and was taken by ambulance to larger hospital for leak. So...really it isnt healthy or wise to go off your diet.

When you're at the "mushie" foods stage, you can just about eat anything if you chew it a LOT. As for skinless pickles: my mother used to make the absolute best, world class bread & butter sweet pickles with skinned and sliced cucumbers. Perfection. I wonder if she still has the recipe.... I will ask her tomorrow. I am soooo blessed to still have my mother so I can ask her silly questions :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
