Thank you for that. :) I'm much better today, but I know once we get in the car for the drive to the hospital, I'll be a wreck again. Lol I know it's worth it.

I didn't talk much at all in the days leading up to my surgery. I was withdrawn, I'm not sure that it mattered. I was getting my mind right.

I was sleeved on 3-20 and woke up with the catheter in and it was removed the next day. It is a strange feeling when they pull it out but it's not painful at all. I also started my period the day before my surgery which was a major PITA! I told the anesthesiologist that I get nauseous really easy and was given extra meds for that plus a nausea patch behind my ear. They gave me something to relax me prior to taking me into the OR and I honestly don't remember anything after that (saying goodbye to my husband, being transferred to the OR or sounds from the OR). I've had a number of surgeries and I've still been awake when they take you into the OR and start strapping you down (which is much more scary for some reason). I will be honest and say the first 3 days were much harder than I expected and I couldn't even get a sip down until the 4th day. (I actually had to spend an extra night in the hospital for this very reason). Each day has been getting easier. I did have an allergic reaction to the adhesive that was used during the surgery which has been uncomfortable. You'll do fine. It helps to try and be as prepared as possible and try not to compare your surgery/recovery to anyone else. It was frustrating when I was feeling so bad to read about others that felt no pain or could swallow anything without any issue.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
