Anyone else have this machine? You just insert a frozen banana and it comes out like soft serve. Would this be considered a purée?

I just ordered mine yesterday. I should have it in a few days. You can do more then frozen bananas with it. There are a few people here that have one. If you search yonanas on here you will find a lot of info. Good, bad, and indifferent. Reading what others said helped me make my decision to buy. I'm on soft foods, so I figured it would work for that. When I hit 6 weeks I'm going to try adding berries and citrus.

Did you know that a banana is basically a big sugar stick? I am 10 months post-op and still only eat 1/4 to a 1/2 banana once in a while (less than once per week). Though it has potassium, which is good for you, I just can't justify the sugars.

A medium banana has 30 g of sugar (essentially all the calories come from the sugar - about 120 calories!). That's about 1/2 of my day's worth of carbs (and I exercise alot!). Until I was 6 months post-op, I was limiting my carbs to less than 40 g per day. One banana would have been 75% of my carbs for the day!

As I stated above you can use things OTHER then bananas. Like oh I don't know, fat free greek yogurt with Protein powder. My surgeon sets our carbs at <15 a meal. 5 meals a day and OH NO!! Im over 40. Carbs are needed for energy production. Having 2-3oz of something natural is way better then eating processed fake sugar laced with preservatives that is pure chemicals.

Everything in moderation. An occasional banana is not what caused us to need surgery.

FYI you have to put frozen fruit in the yonanas, you can't put in yogurt or Protein Powder.< /p>

You can use berries or melons but I think anything mixed with bananas is the best

Product reviews state yogurt can be used as long as it is frozen solid, much like the fruit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
