Good aerobic shoes

Recommended Posts

Hey all! Looking for some advice on a good workout shoe. Since i started exercising regularly I have noticed I seriously walk on the outside of my feet causing the fabric on the shoes to pull down on the sides. Any thoughts?

You may need an orthotic. I would go to a Good Feet store or similar and see what they recommend. Most shoes are for pronation which is the opposite of what you describe. Let me know what you find out, I walk on the outside of my foot too which wears the outer heel down first.

You sound like you are a serious pronator and need to be properly fitted at a shoe store that can do this. I would suggest a running store, even though you may not use them for running. What you are looking for is the proper support for your level of pronation.

Obesity can cause over pronation because the additional weight causes the arch to fall flat. As erp stated, a good orthotic can help; but you also need to make sure you are wearing a shoe that offers a lot of stability and has good arch support (if you're not going to wear an orthotic). Even if you're not a runner, you can go to a specialty running store and have them help you find a good, stability shoe.

Thanks!! Headed tomorrow to a good feet store. Hopefully it won't be so terribly expensive.

Doing the right thing, there. Good shoes are expensive sometimes, but the old addage, you get what you pay for, has never been so true when it applies to shoes. They can make such a HUGE difference in so many things that you do.

I went to run on, a shoe store where they fit your foot and such, watch you walk around, etc. I over pronate a ton, but the guy said he used to be in the upper 300's, had surgery and now is considered normal in terms of pronating, and said likely I'll be right there in a year or so. I was happy to get someone who had been in my shoes before, well not literally. I was fitted to some bad ass Mizuno shoes that were last years model, marked down to $160 and I love these things so much. My wife got fitted to, she was NEVER a runner of fast walker, ever, always complained of knee pain. Now she jogs, double times, and runs with me most of the time now with ease. I'm all for the shoe stores that fit your feet and your walk.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
