Susie1226 138 Posted March 22, 2013 So everything that my doctor has told me is to avoid sugar. I understand that but at the same time they say that artificial sweeteners stimulate your appetite and actually make you crave more. So isn't it better to do real sugar in moderation of course. Just wondering about this. Thoughts???
jackie-o 22 Posted March 22, 2013 I asked my nutritionist about that very same thing yesterday and she said that is simply not true. I don't know what to think. But I do know that sugar turns straight to fat! So I am definitely staying away from sugar, I will stick to Water or artificial sweetners, Goodluck
arthritis_me 12 Posted March 22, 2013 Sugar does turn to fat and so does carb, if you try using stevia or the natural sweeteners you can avoid some of the bad rap associated with asperitame (headaches, depression & possible infertility-I haven't seen the studies on the infertility but someone mentioned it). I don't believe that sweeteners just make your body crave more, I use some sweetener in certain teas and in Protein cookie/brownie baking. I'd rather be eating less calories and forcing my body to burn it's own fat than creating carb and sugar calories for it to burn first, faster weight loss = a happier me. Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted March 22, 2013 Artificial sweetners make your body crave more sugar just as refined sugars do. That's the big thing why most say stay away from them. If you do want to avoid the A/S and still need sugar use natural sweetners like stevia or the like, (can't recall the names) Crystal Light Pure is the only drink enhancer that I have found that has stevia as the sweetner
