Amanda, hope you are feeling better today. Please make sure you have a consult with a cardiologist as soon as you can (or follow up with yours if you already have one). I'm not trying to scare you, but I am in medical communications, and I am writing an article right now on AFib and stroke risk (1 in 7 strokes are precipitated by an episode of AFib). It's not an issue as long as you can control the AFib, which can be done under a qualified cardiologist's care using rhythm control drugs or another approach that your cardiologist deems appropriate.

Take good care. Wishing you all the best.

Wonderful news, but like Tes posted, please see a cardiologist as soon as you can. You want to be healthy enough to show your new body off soon! Take care Amanda!

Thank you for the suggestion... I do have a cardiologist and i plan to do a follow up right away! I'm happy to report I'm back in sinus rhythm and was given blood thinners and a dose of metoprolol..

Fortunately the a-fib was a temporary event. It happened once b4 two years ago.

Amanda, I'm sorry that we weren't able to continue our adventure back to San Diego together. However I feel blessed to have met you and can't wait for our results to start showing. I'm glad Dr. Campos was fast and efficient with you that night and that all is well for you! I'm sure your probably just arriving home, so good luck to you, enjoy your family and I hope to chat with you soon.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. Unfortunately the second leg of my journey was an event, but I believe all the prayers and support helped keep my mom and I strong...

My heart started acting up right b4 takeoff. Had to stop take off and was taken to University Hospital in Aurora, CO. I've been released and I hoping and praying that we make it home today safe and healthy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
