I am 2 weeks post op and while I have never had pain from surgery, a couple days after surgery I developed this severe pain in my neck..OK..maybe I slept on it wrong..about a week later it went away and moved into my arm..hurts so bad can't even move it.. went to Dr. I have multiple pinched nerves from surgical positioning..??? what??? Now yes this is not as extreme as leaks or blood clots..I get it..but I also can not take anything because my tummy is too new for NSAIDS right now and Tylenol doesn't do jack s#*t for me..so sorry..I just had to vent.. I am more stressed about going back to work..I am a hairstylist and my hands and arms are my money makers...anyone else have anything like this happen to them??? ***sigh***

Best non medication relief I can suggest is to go to a sports medicine practice that specializes in message after injuries or pinched nerves. I have a recurring pinched nerve in my neck that I have to "fix" with massage every 6 -12 months.

Yes, this is weird. I feel like my hamstring has been pulled. My neck is also killing me. It is all on the right side. I am also two weeks out. I ice the hell out of my leg and have taken all of my liquid pain medicine that I was given for surgery. I have blamed my featherbed and took it off of my bed. I am blaming my pillows. What you are saving makes more since.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
