So I had an abdominal ultra sound today and they found a gallstone. Will this slow my whole process of getting WLS ?

Probably not- they will probably take out your gall bladder during your sleeve surgery. That's what they did with me. Believe me, I am so glad they did. Saved me from having to go through a second surgery later.

No it won't slow your weight loss. Is it painful? if so, they will take it out.....If not, it's not a problem. But weight will continue to come off with a healthy diet. :)

most people have gall stones, i can't forsee it being an issue unless it begins to give you pain. I was going to just have mine out with my surgery ( i was having very painful attacks), but they got to bad and i had my gallbladder removed a few months before my sleeve.

What few people realize is that when we are born, we begin to decline in health. Depending on how well we nourish our bodies, and how well we were nourished in-vetro will determine how fast we decline. Symtoms begin to display themselves such as gallstones, and many more other fallings. These are all indications that we are in need of solutions to improve our health. Having gallstones shows the doctor that your body is showing signs of breaking down and you need treatment, new diet, and a healthier lifestyle. You won't be rejected.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
