Happy to say that my surgery went awesome. Was in OR at 1515 on 3/19 and home at 1245 on 3/20. Fortunately no gas pain.....but alot of soreness and the worst was feeling the drain being taken out. I'm doing well with my Protein, Jello, broth and all fluids. I'm feeling good about my decision to do WLS and even better that I have so many prople to share and exchange our positive and negative experiences with. Thanks you all for your bravery and just doing what's best for you.

I struggle with understanding why some surgeons put drains in people and some don't. I was so fortunate to not have drain for my sleeve procedure and/or my gallbladder removal......It sounds so painful......Welcome home and it's good to have you on the BIG LOSER'S BENCH! :)

Well from what I was told by my surgeon, it's to get rid of extra Fluid around your incision, the Fluid needt a port of exit otherwise a buildup of fulids could cause dangerous complications...however if a surgeon chooses not to use a drain that seems fine too because afterall they are the trained professionals and hopefully do whats best for their patients on an individual basis...Thanks Ms. Skinnie never been so proud to be on a awesome winning team ~TeamBariatricBeauties~

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
