HypnotizingHazel 39 Posted April 2, 2013 Lupus and RA are very closely related. They are both auto immune disorders.
MICKEYMANTLE 8 Posted April 2, 2013 i don't have lupus I have lupus anti gen it is a clotting disorder, that is genetic if you have lupus you will test positive for lupus anti gen but if you test positive it dos not mean you have lupus, lupus antigen can also cause miscarriages if untreated to bad they did not know about this 30 years ago, when I could have been treated with baby aspirin and not had a bunch of unexplained miscarriages
scsleever 104 Posted April 23, 2013 I have lupus, and had serious post-surgical blood clots many years ago. If your surgeon knows about your disorder, he/she will take extra care and will give you meds to prevent clotting during and after surgery. I received anti-clotting injections while in the hospital - as did most of the other bariatric surgery patients. And, of course, I did lots and lots of walking as soon as I could... because exercising those leg muscles is one of the best things you can do to prevent a blood clot.
