Today is First week out, two days in a row I woke up dizzy and even bending my head down I get dizzy but not as much as when I get up in the morning I mean the room is spinning and to top it off I've only lost 4 pounds. I started taking my Vitamins 3 days ago im not in any pain so I know I don't have a leak, but I just feel blah. I went to Mexico for the surgery and received my lab work 2 days after surgery I should of questions the lab results in red maybe I was low or to high of something and thats why I feel the way I do and to make matters worse I have no insurance so going to the hosptial to get lab work done is coming out of my pocket and the sugery has wiped me out. What do you guys think

I want to encourage you today. Dizziness could be a sign of dehydration. I say get as much fluids as possible 64oz of Water. Call your physician if you can and ask questions. I suggest you can go to a something like a state hospital if you think you are in need of care. Follow up with a physician and Nut is important. I had some of those same symptoms which improved with fluids.

Hoping you feel better.

You can do it.

Lots of people feel this way. You're not eating anything. Your body does not care for this. You're likely going through carb withdrawals as well. It's alot like the induction phase of Atkins. As far as weight loss....you need to forget about that for a while. It's not likely your body has burned any significant fat at this point. Give it time. It will.

agreed. i'm 1 month out and experienced the same for a week or 2. i feel 100% better now.

focus on hydration and Protein right now, you'll get there.

fwiw, i'm 30lb down as of yesterday, and tomorrow is my 1mo surgiversary. it didn't really start happening until the middle of week 2. i still have moments of buyer's remorse, and that will likely never go away, but overall i'm very glad i did it. i can't help but think about how things will be 5-6mo down the road.

just like with any weight loss plan, gaining is easy and losing is hard. the reality is that there's no going back now, so listen to your body, figure out what it needs, and supply it. in a few months you'll be on easy street with new habits that support your new stomach and new life.

I agree with the others, you are probably dehydrated, and your body has a way of holding onto Water weight even when you are dehydrated, so I wouldn't worry about the "only 4 pounds", just drink! If you can not tolerate plain water, drink flavored water (crystal light for example)! I am a nurse and dizziness is your body telling you it needs water!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
