I had my lapband removed and sleeved on 08/17/12. I lost 40 lbs in the first 3 months...but since then...NOTHING! The doc said by February I should be down 40 more lbs but nothing. I am not eating a lot. I stop as soon as I get the feeling of fullness. I am going crazy because the lapband failed, i didnt expect this to fail too! Any suggestions????

I dont count calories. Dont have much time. But i dont eat anything fried. I cant stand the taste. I walk around work, take the stairs instead of the elevator and park further away in the parking deck.

Try some form of aerobic exercise. Walking, perhaps some jogging. Try getting your heart rate up there for at least 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week.

Keep track of food and Water on my fitness pal which you can do anywhere and it surprises you at the calories in some foods. Worth the little effort.

All of that seems like "estimates," in your daily Quest to lose weight. An estimate is a "good guess," at the best.

We need to know what is going IN our bodies to ensure we continue to lose weight. Every lick, taste, nibble, and bite counts as calories. Eliminating fried foods is great! But not at the expense of licking the spoon when we are baking a chocolate cake. I'm not saying that is what you are doing, I'm only encouraging you to be accountable to yourself, especially this early in the game, to KNOW the numbers.

I applaud you for taking the stairs and parking further away. But, to lose more, move more.

If you've been low-carbing it, try increasing your carbs. Our bodies get use to our routine and can "play that game" and it stops losing. If you've been high-carbing it, try reduce carbs.

All of these little tweaks will jump start your body again, as well as getting in your Water.

Do you eat reduced-calorie frozen meals? : high sodium. Try reducing those, if you are.

My fitness pal is a great, easy way to log food, from your smart phone. You can even scan barcode labels and add them to the day. Super easy.

I agree. Track your intake and you may see where the stall is coming from. So many hidden calories that sneak in.. You'll be amazed

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
