Gallbladder problems after Sleeve

I had my sleeve on 3/4 and today was my post op visit. I have been having this pain on the right side right under my breast. My doctor said today it may be my gallbladder and I may need to have it removed. I know I have read that people having there gallbladder removed but I wanted to know if this is really that common? I heard its more common when u had rapid weight loss. I've only lost 17 pounds post op but darn I'm only 2 weeks out ugggg

Personally I think the doc is a bit premature on saying this. There are many reasons for pain right where you described it and gallbladder issues, like you said are a bit further into weightloss.

Sometimes a sharpe sudden pain can be gas build up in stomach or intestines that just needs to dissipate. OR.. It could be anything lol.

There are meds that can help prevent gallstones. Ask your doc to give you some!

Wait and see what happens.... If you need to have it removed, it's a piece of cake compared to being sleeved. I'm a week out from gallbladder removal and feeling no pain since day 1. I mean the incision sites...

also try making sure you get your 8 cups of fluids a day.
