Try taling a pepcid every day. that helps with head hunger. Also have a rtd Protein Drink in the morning and the afternoon. that should help fill you up. I am 18 months out and still do that if i feel hungrier than usual.

lol you can have it but its going to affect you alot easier then before you might get drunk off of just a half a glass if that, they say to try and stay away from it but you can have it, but remember having this surgery is for a life change you need to change the habits you use to have or its not going to be worth the money you spent

soda and Pasta aren't going to make you happier... yes, it's an adjustment, but you did this because you wanted a change, sweetie. Try to hang in there and re-learn what food should mean in your life. it should be something that nourishes your body and keeps you healthy - pasta and soda don't do that.

Once you're at goal, you can try to have them "once in a while", but by the time you're in maintenance and you reflect on all the hard work it took to get you there, you may find you don't want them anymore. They're just hanging around in your head trying to sabotage you - be strong!! :) Good luck!

I only had about 55 lbs. to lose, but I have lost 70 and I am done losing. I had a horrible esophagus issue and problem that was repaired at the time of my sleeve. All of my weight was basically in my abdomen since 1/3 of my stomnach had protruded through my diaphragm. I was a mess. I went to the doctor just today for my 18 month checkup. my doctor is so happy with me. I have finally started to exercise to tone up about two weeks ago ( I hate to exercise). Remember when you start to do that, you may not lose pounds since the fat is turning to muscle. My fat % has gone down from 54% to 26% and I have gone from a size 18 jeans to a size 2. I have lost 14 inches in my waist. Please don't get discouraged, you will lose, but it doesn't happen overnight. You will not lose a pound or two everyday. I weigh myself everyday and i always have and always will, but not necessary. Whenever we go out to eat i have a white russian or a glass of white zin before my food comes. No problems. I never order too much. I know my limits. If I want clam chowder and a shrimp cocktail for example, I eat my shrimp cocktail first and a few spoons of the chowder then give the rest to my husband. I usually keep my meat portion to about 4-6 oz, then eat veggies or salad (but not all cuz I am usually getting full off the meat. I eat more red meat and pork now than I ever did. Don't like chicken anymore really. Not moist enough. But I have been very successful and you will be too. Just take it one day at a time. See before and after pic on my profile page.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
