I must say Janese at alghterme.com is very prompt with getting back to you when you have questions. I originally had Dr Elias Ortiz confused with Dr. Ariel Ortiz. So now I have been back tracking and looking into some other doctors. Janese has quoted me the best price and I am following one of his patients to see if he has a great experience as well. I didn't realize that Dr Elias Ortiz gives you a private room with room for your husband and a private bathroom' date=' that is a plus.

It is so great to have this forum and here others experiences. :)

Hi annie04 if you have any questions about dr Ortiz or my experience ill be more then happy to answer. Also you are correct Janese with alighterme has the best prices about $2000 less then the other Dr Ortiz and you go to a real actual private hospital (that's what sold me)

I'm in the hotel right now waiting to have surgery and I have to echo everything you said up to surgery ( bc it hasn't happened yet.). When I booked with Alighterme I was concerned bc their prices are extremely reasonable compared to others. Since working with Ronda' date=' Janese, and now Abraham I can't say enough good things about my exp so far. I pray it continues but trust it will. I'm sorry to hear about the other bad or potentially bad experiences. Some may say that seeing everyone going to one Dr. Makes you think that they are great but I cautioned when I saw almost 20 people going to the same Dr. In one thread. Can't say their bad though.[/quote']

Hey good luck to you and a speedy recovery, yeah I herd that recently the other doctors over booked and the hospital got pretty crowed.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
