Louisiana Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I used Southern Specialist in Slidell. It's on the service road between the DMV and Fremeaux. IT WAS WONDERFUL. I loved loved loved my nurses. I wish I could've stayed longer! Lol. I was so comfortable and NEVER had a minute of pain.

Awesome to hear. I was going to go there originally but decided to check into Crescent City Surgical. Nothing bad about either. Just heard more about CSS. Thank you so much for the input. Hope I have the same great recovery you have had so far!

Hi everyone! I'm outside of Baton Rouge in Geismar. I will have my surgery at ochsner in New Orleans with Dr. Wooldrige. My insurance would only pay 100% if I went to a Center of Excellence. I had to choose between Lafayette or New Orleans. I just received my approval letter on Monday. Yeah!!! My husband finds it strange yet funny that I'm excited to have a surgery. He can loose weight at the drop of a dime and doesn't understand. I'm just trying to be patient and awaiting my date.

Hi I'm from Louisiana. Dr. Leblanc is doing my surgery at OLOL hospital in Baton Rouge on 11-12-13. Omg that's in 4 days!!!!!! I'm super excited and lil nervous but reading everyone's posts is reassuring to me :) I'm 5'8" and currently down from 275 (begining of my 6mo start) to 265. My goal is getting off bp meds and ultimately losing 115lbs

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
