I know this is going to sound crazy but I weighed myself for the first time in a week and I was really disappointed that I only lost 3.5 lbs this week. I know that is still good but I was losing 1lb/day up until this week. I did go back to work this week and dont think I drank as much water/crystal light.

We all go through it. It's a normal I went almost 2 weeks without losing a pound and in fact had gained a couple but when it started back I flew off again.

ive been on a steady pace losing wt.. gonna be freaked when I hit a stall. it has slowed up some..but I just started the gym too.. so it will pick up im sure.. I shouldnt complain.. cuz I am down 66lbs in 3 months.. which is really great and without trying.. but now I have to up the program and go to the gym.. which isnt really bad at all.. got a personal trainer to make a program for me.. but you will find it will stall a bit then start up.. thats normal.. hang in there you are doing great..welcome to the club.

I think one reason stalls never bothered me is how I measured myself. I took the weight lost and divided it by the number of days since surgery. That gave me an average loss per day. It was 1/2 pound or more at first and then went down to 1/3 pound per day and so one. That gave me overall look and I didn't fret when the train stopped to let Mr. Fats off and Mr. Muscle on.

Just knowing that my train was still moving on average comforted me that we would eventually reach the destination; Goal City. And we did, good ol' train. B)

I hope my train is as reliable as yours! :P

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
