Help building a WARNING - Worst Slider Foods List

Recommended Posts

Would love for folks to add the foods that are sliders for them - ones that literally are not subject to restriction feeling and can be dangerous unless measured out.

Here are a few from me (I am 2 months out today so have not went to things like ice cream which I know would be a slider ...)

1) popcorn - extreme danger for me!

2) Rice pudding (weird other puddings fill me up quicker)

3) Egg beaters (funny as I know good for me but I just cant feel full on them)

Love to hear yours

For me (at 6 months post op) it's cheese (all kinds), Peanut Butter, chocolate, ice cream, crackers, Cookies. I'm staying away from all of that now. Going Paleo!!!!

Frozen yogurt and popcorn. I am not trying sweets of any kind. I did poke my tongue in the top of a cupcake and then ran away.

Hahahaha. Awesome.

Any candies or cakes. Obv.

cheese which is unfortunate bc I like it and don't like meat all that much.

Basically any carbs actually except ak mak crackers. For all you cracker addicts try them bc they have more Protein and Fiber and low on cals and fill you up! Great with hummus and tuna or chicken salad.

My Nutritionist wants me to have mainly cheese as my source of Protein since I'm a vegetarian. As she was talking, I was picturing my cholesterol sky rocket. My doc does not want me to drink protein drinks. (Frown) Then I get here and learn that I may not feel full if I eat cheese? After my surgery, I may not tell my doc about protein drinks, and let my Nutritionist THINK I am living on cheese, and cheese alone. LOL

Corn nuts. Had them for first time post op a couple nights ago and realized I was eating them by the handful. I am sure popcorn would be on my slider list, but I have not tried it yet because it was definitely a "problem" food pre surgery.

Just remembered one: nuts. I buy the portioned packs to keep myself in check.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
