3 weeks out ... People who have gone before me, please review my food ....

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm just concerned that I am on the right track . I'm down 18 pounds in the past. 3 weeks since my surgery ....

Here is my average day :

8 am Protein Drink

10 chobani yogurt

1 pm 1/2 can tuna w/ light mayo ... 5 ritz crackers

4 pm cottage cheese ( small on the go size)

6:30 ... Maybe 2 oz fish, 3 pieces of broccoli , few bites of Soup.< /p>

Usually before dinner I haven't even had 500 calories... But I never count my dinner calories - as I eat out a lot, and frankly don't feel like obsessing over it ... But I feel like since I only eat a few bites at dinner I am probably okay .... What do you all think ?

I am saposed to move on to solids now, but I am frankly scared to eat different foods because they may make me feel sick etc... So I tend to be sticking to shakes, yogurt, Soups, fish .... Did have my first bites of salad last night ... It was good !

How long can I got eating the same "safe" foods though ? I would live to try ground beef for example ... But feel apprehensive or like I may gain weight if I like it too much.

Anyone else go through this in the beginning .... How did you became a more normal eater ?

Responses welcome from any one ????

I am 3 weeks out too. I don't get to have veggies yet, though. I am curious about everyone else's diet at 3 weeks.

My diet is very similar also. I'm getting between 600 and 700 calories a day.

4-6 oz??? I'm three weeks out too but if I even dreamed of eating that much, I would get so sick! I'm lucky if I can get down 2 oz at most! What am I doing wrong?

looks perfect to me. I wouldn't worry about beef. You will probably be able to eat 2oz or less at once. I'm almost 20 months post op and still can't eat a small burger. (Like a single from culvers) I take off the top bun and eat 1/2 to 3/4 of it when I get a craving a couple times a month.

you're not doing anything wrong, you probably had lots of swelling-- I did too and it subsided after about 5-6 weeks.

I'm surprised at 3 weeks out that you are allowed to have crackers. I'm 4 weeks out, and eating soft foods. I was in a bind the other day and stopped at McDonalds and got a single cheeseburger. I threw away the top and bottom bun, and just ate the pattywith cheese. I was able to eat all of it and it went down just fine.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
