I ate a piece about the size of a quarter and got a belly ache. My surgeon said you have to try stuff to know whether it will agree with you or not. I can eat crackers, pretzels and even toast, but no uncooked bread.< /p>

I absolutely loved bread, before surgery. I'm afraid to try it now though. Crackers are still pretty heavy in my stomach, so I can only imagine how horrible bread will make me feel.

I had a piece of toast with pb & sugar free j yesterday morning for breakfast- so far there's no food my sleeve rejects. I started with thin breads- bagel thins, sandwich skinnys, etc. They went down fine. I don't eat a lot of bread, though. Usually it just doesn't appeal. I have not had a sandwich in 3 months.

I have zero interest in bread now, which I love.

I was a massive carb junkie pre op. I would eat HUGE amounts of bread, Pasta. If I'd walk into a bakery the owner would be rubbing his hands together because I was about to clean him out!

I've had small amounts of bread post op but it fills me up quickly and I'd rather fill myself with other cleaner, more easily digested foods. So I don't really eat bread anymore, but I'm not really avoiding it and I certainly don't feel like I'm being deprived.

My diet regimen says no bread until nine months after surgery. For now, it's Protein ONLY. After three months, I can add 1 vegetable a day. After six months, one fruit. Aftter nine, one bread or milk.

I don't crave bread, except last week I was at the commuter train station in downtown Chicago, with a 45 minute wait for my train. In the station was a Subway sandwich shop, and they bake their own bread. The smell of fresh baked bread filled the waiting area. It drove me nuts!

I'm 5 weeks post op and can do toast. So far I've only tried those thin sandwich thins (100 calories for both sides, I can only eat 1 side).

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
