You will do just great! i'm 3 day post op still at the hotel and my swelling has finally gone down (they pump you full of fluids via IV and i was pretty puffy). I dont really have any pain, just the heartburn this morning as i drank some Water. i'll have to take some liquid heart burn acid reducer in a few mins. Stay positive! You got on the plane so this is it...it's time for your transformation to begin! Dr Garcia and his staff are great..Dr. Velasco is so sweet and Melissa too! You'll be just fine!!! atlsleevegirl 36 Posted March 20, 2013 Well folks, I had my surgery. My first question when I woke up was was the surgery over. When he told me yes, my next thought was damn, I was going to change my mind! But all went well. The first night was HELL! Not sure that I was fully prepared for how much pain I would be in. It was the longest night of my life. So don't plan to sleep much that first night. The nurses kept me with pain meds though. The biggest problem is finding a comfortable position to sleep with that damn drain. I prefer to sleep on my sides and it's impossible to do with that drain pulling on you. I didn't have much gas pain until the first day at the hotel. Walking definitely helped. Now I'm just a little sore from the incisions. Everyone at the hospital was great. Dr. Luna has an amazing bedside manner, and he isn't bad to look at either. Melissa is super sweet, as is Rosie. The hospital was clean and safe, but don't expect Cedars Sinai. It's not the Ritz, but it gets the job done. The Marriott was nice and also safe. The staff at the hotel is wonderful, although it took forever for our room to be ready. By day two at the hotel, I felt good enough to do some BRIEF shopping. We took a cab to Revolution and walked around for about an hour to get souvenirs. After that I was pretty tired, so we came back to the hotel for broth. It was ok, but not as great as everyone makes it out to be. I think people are just so excited to eat, that they think it's that awesome. I'm so not looking forward to the long flight back today, but I am very ready to get home!
