May Sleever!! Dr. Rod in Juarez MX on May 10.

Heaviest Weight 296

Current Weight 270

Goal weight 140-150?

My mini goals....

I dieted down to 256 in 2007 when I temporarily seperated from my no good husband... so I would love to see that in May!!

I was 240 when I married the SOB  so that goal and will take me back to 2004.

I was 205 when I meet the SOB  , so that goal will take me back to 2002.

(Do you see the trend of undoing some mistakes here???)

I havent been to ONEderland for 20 years... super excited about hitting that goal!

And at the end of it, I should weigh the same as I did when I was 15 years old, and met the darling man I am with today - who loves me thick or thin.

Hey Beth is your cover photo on Facebook tropical drinks? I could only find one.. hoping it is you?

P.S. Im in Ontario Canada, and I will blog here a couple times a month so those that are interested in my journey and my incredible wit can follow along!

What's your ultimate goal?

caitiebug - my ultimate goal (if I had my way) would be 140 lbs - but I think my realistic goal is 175 (even though I'd still be categorized as overweight). :)

I am getting sleeved on May 16th. I am 5'6" 263 pounds. I am 32 and just tired of this battle. My husband is wonderful and supportive. Others think its a bit extreme ...but at the end of the day they don't matter. My health does!! I was first going for the Lap-band. Then I found out at my seminar that the failure rate for it was 4 out of 10. So I opted for the sleeve. I am excited and scared all at once! I just met my surgeon April 8th got my surgery date on April 11th. Brigham and Woman's hospital in Boston MA. I still have to meet with my nutritionist on April 18th. So I have began trying out Protein shakes' date=' trying to eat just one light meal a day, lots of Water and walking. Doc asked me to lose 10 to 15 pounds before surgery. I must say this process has gone much faster then I expected. But I am happy!![/quote']

I will be four days after you. This is both exciting and nerve wrecking. But I'm so ready for a healthier me. Wishing you the best.

Wishing you the best as well Misslady!! I am going into Brigham and Woman's hospital for an appointment with my Nut tomorrow. I am more nervous due to the bomb threats there today. Boston will also be a mess due to the president being there. I live in New Hampshire and travel 45 min to Boston because i feel that's the best hospital's for care. But nothing is going to stop my process not even terrorist's!!!

Hi people. I am scheduled for May 1st. Happy and scared at the same time. Told work I was going out but only told 2of my co-workers why. Other people I may tell 6 months from now. I have final appt with md tomorrow . Is a family visit so I have to bring my mom. She will on a cruise to Hawaii when I have the surgery but my sister is coming for the week. I also have a tweny year old son and 12year old that will help me and their 14year old brother with autism. I don't have a husband. He left 6 years ago after 16 years of marriage. I am finally in a space to have the surgery to help me reclaim my life and myself. I am an RN in life and I want to be able to work longer. Also I need to stay around for the 14year old. But mostly I am being selfish in a good way and taking back the power in my life. To be the real me again. I like who I am now but I know I need help to live life to a fuller and deeper level. I don't want to hide behind this wall of flesh any more. I want people to see the real me not just the outside wrapper I have now. Sorry I am rambling... I want the day to come and to start using the new tools that this surgery will give me! In the name of the higher power of your choice ( I am Greek Orthodox so it's JC for me.) I pray that everything will go well and that I can start to build the live I know is out there for myself and my kids! Rock on may sleevers! We a going to take on the world and make it better! We are worth it a a million plus one. Go May go May Go may!

I lived in Boston for 16years. Went I college and grad school there. Also had my 3boys there. The first was at BWH. It is a great place to go. If you can you may want to park out In one of the neighborhoods like JP or west Roxbury and take the T into the hospital . Will cost you a lot less. Or have your people try to park down park drive and walk the few blocks to the hospital. I use to go to a small russian Orthodox Church and you sometimes can park there for free. It is on park drive across from Simmons college on the Fenway. Also remember if there is a Red Sox game give yourself an extra 30 mins plus to get into the area. Traffic can be crazy. Good luck!

Hello everyone' date=' I wanted to see how many May 2013 sleevers there are! :D What are you doing at this point to prepare for surgery? What are your stats?

I am scheduled for May 15th. So excited, but nervous!! I am currently 260 and my highest was 268 in February. I plan to get down to at least 250 before the two week Protein diet prior to my surgery. My goal weight is 150 which I haven't been at in about 7 years! I started my journey in January of this year. I was fortunate enough that my insurance approved me without requiring a 6 month monitored diet. I have a good amount of support, didn't start off that way though. First responses were "you're taking the easy way out", so I took them to information seminars which completely changed their views (whew!). I am extremely excited for the surgery because it's a new me. I can completely change my life habits around and start feeling better about myself physically and mentally. When I think back, I've realized my weight has kept me from making friends, going in public, and just plain living life!

I would love to hear all of your stories thus far and how your journey to getting sleeved has been! :D

Thanks!!

- Brooke[/quote']

Hi Brooke,

I'm in australia and my date for sleeve is Tuesday 14th may I'm excited too.

In January when I saw my surgeon he sent me to a dietician and I weighed 173.3kgs and in less than 3 months I have lost to date 19 kgs. My operation was ment to be on the 30th April but they pushed back as dr had an emergency operation to do on someone else. I've been on Optifast shakes for 6 days now and have to say on them 2 weeks longer as the change of op date. Doing really well. I struggled with my weight since I started puberty before then I was a skinny little kid. This is the heavyest I've ever been out on loads of weight after having my son. People do say its the easy way out but they don't know the struggle of diet after diet etc and the feeling of not succeeding. Don't listen to them they don't have any idea at all.

Good luck with ur operation and hope u gain confidence in ur self as we are all beautiful people.

Cheers lucy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
