NicoleLpn 8 Posted March 16, 2013 I developed gout in my right wrist right after surgery and a week later its just starting to feel better now it feels like my left wrist is starting!! Could be poss caused from the high Protein intake! Anyone else have this happen?!?!
Sassygirl06 962 Posted March 16, 2013 I had gout before surgery but didn't know about it till I got my labs back. I never knew that the pain in my joints wasn't just normal. Anyways I barely have a problem with it anymore even with the high Protein diet. I try to avoid processed meats, but if I do have them I drink some cherry juice as well. It is a natural way to get rid of the purines. Never had to take any meds for it. Good luck!
Terry H. 196 Posted March 16, 2013 It seems gout attacks are common early in weight loss. Many report remission after losing the weight. I've been off my maintenance allopurinol since September and all seems well. Good luck!
