Sleeved June 10, and am down 42 pounds. I don't feel different (aside from pants feeling big) or think I look any different.

June folks, has anyone encountered pretty intense fatigue since surgery?

Hope everyone is well!

I was VERY exhausted last week and was sleeved 6/17. Wasn't sure what it was, but seem to be back to normal this week. Last week I felt like I was dragging!

Isn't it funny how we all are different. I can sleep with no problems and have been since coming out of the hospital. If I don't get 9hrs I'm crap for the day! I hope everyone who is having trouble sleeping gets over it soon

Hi. I am trying to do a low carb, high Protein diet, sort of like Atkins. I try to stay under 35 carbs a day, of course sometimes I go a little higher, but 35 seems to be a good fit for me. I am also getting all my Protein from actual food, no Protein shakes, bars or powders. This is just my personal preference. My calories a day range from 800 to 1100, which at first I was freaking out about, cause I thought it was way too much compared to others, but my nutritionist said that was ok, cause I am eating a lot of protein. I only eat 3-3.5 oz per meal and about 1.5-2 oz for my Snacks. My surgeon recommended eating 3 meals a day and 2-3 Snacks per day, eating every 2-3 hours...I think this helps eliminate the urge to graze.

What type of diet have you been following...I see so many different paths people take on here, I guess everyone has to find the right fit for them.

If you use myfitnesspal you can look up my food diary and add me as a friend...anyone else reading this post is welcome to add me as well. My username is blackcloudkygirl.

I was sleeve 6/03 and also experience fatigue. My Nut told me to increase my Protein to 100-120 gms of Protein since I'm 6'0". It's been difficult for me to get in the extra cause sometimes I fall asleep by 7.

Yes. My nut said to take the B-Complex with B-12 so that knocks out two in one and one less thing you have to worry about! Plus it has a little more B-12 than we need and it does give you a boost!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
