Daize, chin up girl. You'll feel better soon. Thoughts and hugs. You got this.

You all that are still hungry, are you taking Prilosec or something like that? Ve read on here that heartburn can feel like hunger post sleeve. Lots of drs put patients on Prilosec for some time after the sleeve.

Good luck everyone. See you on the losers bench Wednesday :)

Today I am really depressed. I had my very first melt down. When ppl asked if I was okay I even cried. Has anyone else been through this? Maybe it's just a bad day but I just feel horrible?? I hope it's just a phase of some sort...

Hi Dazialovely-

Each & everyday gets better....Take it slow & easy!

HUGS,

Molly

I'm impressed with everyone getting in all of their liquids and Protein so easily! I am struggling daily to do this. My surgery was the 10th and I have not gotten to my goal (or very close) at all. I'm sipping all day so I do not get dehydrated but can only get in 1-2 oz of Protein shakes a day!

Maybe I'm taking too small of sips?

I'm nowhere near close either. Don't feel bad. Your sips are probably just right.

I had my surgery on the 11th.

I got seriously dehydrated on the 10th and was sent over to the er for fluids. I was taking tiny sips because to me, thats a sip. Doc said it should be at least an oz. I am now getting in my fluids! Keep at it!!

My dr said that it should take 15 minutes or 6-8 sips to drink an oz! I've been monitoring my bathroom breaks so I hope I don't have to go back to the hospital!

These pills you guys are taking, are you crushing them or just taking them

I take mine whole- I was never told to crush anything. But I am only taking Nexium, which is a capsule, and a birth control pill which is tiny. My Vitamins are chewable.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
