I was sleeved June 5th no gas pain and tolerable incision pain. The only thing that kept me up last night/this morning was my arms had this burning pain. Feeling much better. How are you all doing with your liquid intake ? I don't seem to have room in my new stomach!

I was sleeved on the 5th as well. I am having trouble with trapped gas, especially after each swallow! I am sipping and plugging my nose, trying not to take in air. Getting fluids in ok, but Isopure makes me throw up. Too sweet! My abdomen is still pretty sore, especially around the incisions.but it's not too bad. Sat not was my first night of a good sleep.

I didn't tolerate isopure, I'm drinking the premier Protein shakes. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you. Doing ok. I can drink broth and Powerade just fine. Not allowed to do shakes until after the 12th. The trapped gas is the worst! Lol.

Swansons low sodium chicken broth. Only get it warm, not hot. If you can tolerate beef broth, get Swansons brand as well. I made the mistake is getting the Walmart brand and it was NASTY. The chicken broth is rather soothing on the abdominal pain.

It seems my sleeve likes warm foods more than cold ones. Thanks I will send my boyfriend to pick some up. In the hospital I had beef broth and it went down well.

I just sip, sip, sip. Constantly sipping. Mix it up between sweet flavors and savory broths. This way you don't get burned out on one thing.

Luckily I'm able to tolerate the Isopure and Premier Protein. Water sits in my stomach like a brick. So I try to get down one bottle of plain Water and then I add crystal light or something similar to water for the rest of the day

My surgery date is June 20. This week I met with my surgeon and I am good to go. No pre-op diet. My top weight was 311, today I am 280. I hope to get down to 160. I am 45yr old and have have overweight since about 10yrs old. I am so excited and scared to death at the same time. In all honesty, I am only afraid of failure. Afraid I will go through all this and work so hard just to find out the surgery doesn't work for me. This is as illogical fear. I'm glad to get it off my chest.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
