Khloé 89 Posted March 15, 2013 My family lives in a condo on the second story of the building. No elevator, just stairs. I walked up a couple of stairs (we lived elsewhere) after the birth of my son, who was born via c-section. Should I be worried about having to climb a flight of stairs the day or two days after I'm sleeved? Like, is it painful and/or hard to do that soon after having your stomach cut out? I was fine after my c-section and the incision was much lower on my abdomen, so I figure I'd be ok with the sleeve/stairs thing. Just wanted to see how your experiences went. Thanks! Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted March 15, 2013 I was fine with stairs. My house is multilevel, but... Everyone is different after this surgery.
TES 858 Posted March 15, 2013 My surgeon doesn't place limitations on stairs when you get home. You just have to be very careful and take the stairs slowly of course, because a fall at this point would not be good (not good anytime, but you don't want to rip out any stitches, etc.). onelessfatgirl 103 Posted March 15, 2013 In my jome I have stairs to get in the front door. And stairs either up or down to get to one of the bathrooms. The stairs haven't been problematic for me but I have been taking a bit slower so I don't get run over by one of my dogs.
PdxMan 4,292 Posted March 15, 2013 Yeah, I have two flights of stairs ... no problem. Just take it easy, one step at a time and you'll be fine.
Stef 264 Posted March 15, 2013 I live on the 2nd floor and it wasn't a problem at all. You'll be fine.
