Fiddleman 4,376 Posted March 18, 2013 I'm pretty clogged lol. Ummmm I don't like it. I was told Fiber can bloat you thoughts? Ladies and gents? Well, I do have to recommend chia seeds as a natural digestion aid for ongoing preventative support. However, if you are severely clogged, I would start out with something stronger and more immediate like Milk of Magnesium, ducolax or Smooth Move tea. Chia seeds are good as a long term day to day "unclogger" and helps you stay clear with daily BM events, most of the time more then 1. An occasional use of Miralax is also helpful, especially in combination with chia seeds.

Otherwise, there are many sellers on Amazon.com that you can buy from. I have found you can get more for less through Amazon.com. Just make sure the seller has good feedback. Not sure about when you can have seeds. I believe I started on the between 4th and 5th month post op. They work really well and are also good source of Protein and Omega 3. It's also one of the few processed foods that doesn't wake up my carb monster. Probably because there is no sugar. 1 sastexan4u@yahoo.com reacted to this

It's also one of the few processed foods that doesn't wake up my carb monster. Probably because there is no sugar. I think I will start eating this again. Warning to others: it looks like rabbit food! However, the taste, in my opinion is good and it is very dependable with regards to BM regularity. You can even eat it with Water or just by the handful. It makes a good topper for all those recipes that call for breading and it makes a killer Fiber muffin we tend to make them from scratch, but Fiber One also has mixes you can use out of the box). It is almost miracle food if I may. The only issue is finding it on a sale. I remember coming out of target once with 20 boxes (each was a dollar something). Lasted me greater than 6 months. Otherwise, they tend to be in the neighborhood of $5 a box. Probably more now that inflation is kicking in for us in the states.

atelux17 135 Posted April 18, 2013 My low carb tortillas have 13 g fiber, 19 carbs tho, 5 G Protein. It doesn't say whether its soluble or insoluble fiber. I eat oatmeal sometimes with berries. Or I make oatmeal Cookies with applesauce or banana purée & low sugar craisins (10g fiber per 1/4 c). I add these foods into my low carb diet occasionally& try to eat sparingly. But everybody needs to poop.

Bufflehead 6,358 Posted April 19, 2013 I'm not going to try to talk anyone out of eating fiber (I love it and eat a lot of it) but you might not actually need that much. How much fiber you need is calculated per 1000 calories of food you eat each day. The recommendation really isn't that everyone needs to get 25 grams of fiber each day, but that everyone should get at least 14 grams of fiber per 1000 calories that you eat. So if you are eating 1200 calories per day, you would want to aim for approx. 17 grams of fiber. If you are eating 800 calories, aim for 11 grams of fiber. http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/fiber-table/ 1 Butterthebean reacted to this
