lrgandwrg 37 Posted March 15, 2013 How is it possible to get in 20-25 grams a day without taking a supplement and adding in additional carbs?
joatsaint 2,814 Posted March 15, 2013 I haven't measured my Fiber intake, but I do eat a lot of re-fried Beans and I add psyllium (from Walmart) to my food concoctions. I also eat cauliflower (instead of mashed potatoes) that's been run through the food processor. A 1 lb bag only has about 100 calories, add a little brown gravy and I think it tastes better than mashed potatoes

brandibandtosleeve2012 12 Posted March 16, 2013 My nutritionist just told me Asian Pears have something like 10 g of fiber. That is a ton for a piece of fruit. i know it's carbs but it's natural.
Ljp 157 Posted March 17, 2013 How is it possible to get in 20-25 grams a day without taking a supplement and adding in additional carbs? Kellogs All Bran Cereal is a good source of fiber. I eat with Pure Silk almond milk unsweetened. 1gram of carb in that milk and if you minus the fiber from the carbs in the Cereal its only 13 carbs. Worth it to me to get fiber. brandibandtosleeve2012 12 Posted March 17, 2013 I pulled out the info the nutritionist gave me and it says according to USDA an Asian pear is 10 g. Not sure about the size variance. Prunes and lentils are other good ideas.

Butterthebean 8,146 Posted March 17, 2013 There is not a better source of fiber in the known universe than plain fiber one cereal. Even the 1/2 cup serving will meet your daily fiber needs. Yes it has a few carbs, but it has no sugar so it won't trigger cravings. Even the glycemic index diet gurus say this is the one processed carb worth eating for the fiber content. No I still use the chia seeds but I've cut back on my Protein shakes....thereby cutting back on the chia. I honestly think the fiber one works better anyway.
